KAG is a developer and manufacturer of customized electric motors and drive solutions. Development, engineering, production and sales are all located at our headquarters in Hanover, Germany. This enables us to support our customers personally throughout the entire development process and respond flexibly to individual requirements.

KAG develops and manufactures customized drive systems based on brushed DC motors and brushless EC motors. These can be combined with matching components such as gearboxes, encoders and brakes, as well as coordinated motor control electronics, to create a complete drive system from a single source. The most suitable drive solution always depends on the specific requirements of the application.

We offer customized drive systems in sizes ranging from 36 to 80 mm. Within this range, every drive is individually designed to meet the requirements of the respective application, taking into account the available installation space, required torque, desired speed and operating conditions. This results in powerful drive solutions ranging from extremely compact designs to systems that meet demanding requirements in terms of dynamics, efficiency and service life.

For more than 50 years, KAG has been developing and manufacturing customized drive solutions Made in Germany at our headquarters in Hanover. Development, production and sales all work under one roof, supporting our customers from the initial idea through to series production. Instead of offering off-the-shelf products, we develop drive solutions that are precisely tailored to each individual application. As a result, no two drive solutions are usually the same.

Our customized small drive systems are used in a wide range of fields of application, including agricultural technology, medical technology, bus and rail technology, aquaculture, and access automation. In addition, we develop drive solutions for many other industrial applications. Every solution is individually tailored to the specific requirements of the respective application.

After submitting your inquiry via our contact form or by contacting your personal contact directly, you will usually receive an initial response within 1 to 2 business days. Together, we discuss your technical requirements and the intended application. Based on this, we develop a customized drive concept and prepare a suitable quotation. If required, we produce prototypes, optimize the solution together with you, and support your project through to approval and series production.

Delivery times depend on the specific drive solution and order volume. For series production orders, our standard lead time is typically 16 to 18 weeks. The exact delivery time will be specified in your quotation.

Depending on the project, KAG manufactures both small production runs of 50 to 500 units and high-volume series ranging from 20,000 to 200,000 units. Production volumes are flexibly adapted to the requirements of each individual application.

From the very beginning of the planning and development process, we support our customers in designing the optimal drive system. We consider factors such as torque, speed, installation space, service life and environmental conditions. This results in a customized drive solution that is precisely tailored to the technical and functional requirements of the intended application.

At KAG, prototypes and samples are designed to be as close to the final production version as possible, ensuring that the customized product characteristics are already taken into account. This allows the planned series solution to be tested and optimized under realistic conditions at an early stage.

We support our customers throughout the entire product life cycle – from the initial idea to series production and beyond. Our services include technical consulting, joint drive system design, the development of customized solutions, the production of production-ready prototypes, as well as support during testing and optimization. Even after the start of series production, we remain a reliable partner for technical support, spare parts and the further development of existing drive solutions.

The service life of an electric motor depends on various factors, including load, operating environment, duty cycle and motor control. To ensure maximum service life and operational reliability, we design every drive solution individually to meet the requirements of its specific application.

A certain amount of heat generation during operation is completely normal for electric motors. The key factor is that the motor operates within its specified temperature limits. Therefore, the thermal design of every KAG drive solution is individually adapted to its intended application.

Our quality management system is certified according to ISO 9001:2015, ensuring that our development, production and documentation processes follow a certified quality management system. Depending on the application, our drive solutions can be supplied in compliance with CE, RoHS and REACH requirements. We also provide support for project-specific standards, certifications and approval requirement.

Yes. KAG supports customers in the design of appropriate EMC measures and offers pre-compliance testing in our in-house laboratory. For final certification, however, we recommend testing the complete system at an accredited external test laboratory.
