What are the tasks of a technical product designer?

Technical product designers develop and design individual parts and assemblies for devices, machines or systems as well as tools and devices for production in cooperation with engineers and other skilled workers. On the computer, with CAD and other programmes, you create the manufacturing, assembly and production documents and provide the drawings with the necessary production data. You manage all the data and prepare it for use in production.


Your training at KAG:

In the first year of training, you will learn drawing techniques and technical sketching based on increasingly demanding tasks. In the process, you will develop your spatial imagination. You will also complete a work placement in the mechanical workshop. In the second year of training, you will deepen the basic knowledge you have acquired through practical tasks using CAD. In the third and fourth years of training, you will focus on project processing and production equipment.


Our requirements for you:

In addition to enjoying technical things and their interrelationships, mathematics and physics, having fun with computers, spatial awareness, organisational skills, manual dexterity, teamwork and communication skills, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Very good secondary school leaving certificate, A-levels
  • Good grades in mathematics, physics and technically oriented subjects
  • A keen interest in technical innovations

What are the tasks of a mechatronics technician?

Mechatronics technicians develop solutions for control and automation tasks. They build electrical apparatus, machines, plants and automation systems. Your tasks also include commissioning, repair and maintenance.


Your training at KAG:

During your training, you will acquire basic knowledge in mechanics and electrical engineering. In particular, you will be trained in the prototyping and maintenance departments, where you will learn how to plan, build and maintain electrical systems and machines. Another component of the apprenticeship is various in-house internships in the different departments to get to know the company’s operations.


Our requirements for you:

In addition to the enjoyment of mathematics and physics, interest in electrical engineering and mechanics, technical understanding, analytical thinking, ability to think abstractly and an exact way of working, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Good secondary school leaving certificate
  • Good performance in mathematics, physics and technically oriented subjects
  • Strong interest in technical innovations
  • Independent way of working
  • Open-minded, team player and committed

What are the tasks of electronics technicians?
Electronics technicians for devices and systems adapt assemblies, create circuit boards, assemble components and manufacture electronic devices and systems for various purposes. They install and configure programmes or operating systems, test components, prepare device documentation or create layouts. Furthermore, you will take care of the procurement of components and equipment and support technicians or engineers in the implementation of orders.


Training at KAG:

During your training, you will acquire basic knowledge in electrical engineering and programming. In particular, you will be trained in the electronics development and maintenance departments, where you will learn how to plan and build electrotechnical systems. Another part of the training is various in-house internships in the different departments to get to know the company’s operations.


Our requirements to you:

In addition to an enjoyment of mathematics, physics and computer science, an interest in electrical engineering, technical understanding, analytical thinking, the ability to think abstractly and a precise way of working, you should meet the following requirements:

  • A good secondary school diploma or A-levels
  • Good performance in mathematics, physics and technically oriented subjects
  • A pronounced interest in technical innovations
  • Independent way of working
  • Open-minded, team player and committed
